Muir Woods is open 365 days a year!

The only exceptions are for emergency closures, including weather, air quality, power-outages, and other safety risks. These are listed on our website and social media sites as soon as they are determined.

Hours

Muir Woods National Monument is open from 8:00 AM until approximately sunset. Specific closure time changes through the year. More detailed information on park operating hours can be found on the Basic Information webpage.

The Muir Woods Visitor Center is open 8:00 am to 30 minutes before the park closes. The Muir Woods Trading Company and Cafe are open from 9 AM - approximately one-hour before the park closes.

Muir Beach, Muir Beach Overlook, and Stinson Beach all close one hour after sunset.
