Ancestral Pueblo
Pueblo IV AD 1350 - 1550
This is a complete pipe of the type often called 'cloud-blowers', as the rising smoke was intended to call rainclouds. It has a four-pointed 'star' design and three bands painted on the exterior. It retains smoke carbon on the interior. Tobacco was important for ritual use rather than recreational smoking.
