Open House on Fire Preparedness

Mojave National Preserve staff will be hosting an open house at the Hole-in-the-Wall Fire Center. The purpose of the event is to share information, discuss concerns, and learn how to prepare for future fires and other emergencies.

Public Open House

Hole-the-WallFireCenter

Saturday, May 5th, 2007

11:00 am to 3:00 pm

Directions: Take Interstate 40 to Essex Road exit, then north to Black Canyon Road. The FireCenter is about 15 miles north of Interstate 40.

The fire danger remains extreme for all of us living and working in the Mojave Desert, and the bulk of the fire season still lies ahead. It's a good time to discuss and plan for future emergencies. Homeowners should be working to make residences resistant to wildfire. We will offer Firewise literature at the open house. Information is always available at www.firewise.org.

The open house will be an informal drop-in gathering. Light refreshments will be provided by the Western National Parks Association.
