Nodding Wild Onion
Allium cernuum

Description: This lovely onion has pinkish-white flowers that nod in the wind. They prefer mesic sites, and do not do well in dry or upland sites, or in areas with very heavy grass competition. They flower from July to August their first or second year. They are especially attractive when planted in groups.

Planting: Sow unstratified seeds in the fall and stratified seeds in the spring. Also grows well from transplants or bulbs that are divided from a mature plant.
