The Historic Site is open daily during daylight hours year-round.

There is an exhibit at the Hagerman Fossil Beds NM Visitor Center

located 40 miles away in Hagerman, ID.  We suggest you begin your visit there.

The Historic Site is still being developed.  Please be prepared.  Wear sturdy footwear and bring water. There is little - no shade at the site.  Portable toilet facilities are available.

The Historic Site is located on a county road. It may not be well maintained during winter weather.  Please check road conditions before venturing there.

Many Internees demonstrated their loyalty to the U.S. by volunteering for military service. They were segregated into all Japanese American combat and intelligence units commanded by non Japanese Americans.
