Fee Waivers & Field Trips (Self-Guided & Guided)

Whether you are planning a self guided or ranger guided field trip to Lake Mead National Recreation Area, you must fill out the education form below. Educational groups coming to the park that are organized by an accredited educational institution may qualify for a waiver of park entrance fees.

Once you have filled out and submitted the education form, a park staff member will review your submission and contact you with more information. Filling out the education form does not automatically approve your group for waived fees or a ranger to accompany your group on a field trip.

You can contact us for fee-waiver related questions and help with the form. You can do this by:
e-mailing us, or;
calling us: (702) 293-8798

Ranger Guided Field Trips

Reservations for free ranger guided educational field trips are made on a first come, first served basis. We recommend that you complete the below form at least three months in advance of your desired date for ranger-led programs. Ranger guided field trips are subject to staff and resource availabilty. Filling out the form does not automatically approve your group for waived fees or staff availability for your group.

Self-Guided Field Trips

Planning a self-guided field trip to Lake Mead National Recreation Area? We suggest visiting the park prior to the class trip to get a better understanding of this wonderful outdoor classroom. Current conditions are updated on our website and include road closures and weather advisories.

Bathrooms and a water fountain are available on site but there are no picnic areas at the Visitor Center. All picnic areas are inside the fee-area.
