Why am I not allowed to throw coins into the pool?

The pool mechanical systems within the Memorial are easily damaged by coins getting into the pumps.  In addition, the coins stain the stone pavers lining the pool bottom.

How come the soldiers aren't all dressed alike?

The soldiers represent all of the American services, with each dressed in their appropriate uniform attire.
