Bird Walk held at Knife River Indian Villages

Whether you are in search of a Spotted Towhee, a Red-eyed Vireo or the elusive Piping Plover, now is your opportunity.  On Saturday, May 15, join the Seventh Annual Knife River Bird Watching Event.  Meet Patrick Isakson from North Dakota Game and Fish at the 7-Trails Trading post (just south of the park) at 6:30 a.m. Mountain Time.

“Birds are amazing this time of the year.  The American Goldfinch has donned its’ golden mantel and birds everywhere are trying to impress each other,” stated Chief of Interpretation and Cultural Resources Maureen McGee-Ballinger.

Birders of all experience levels are welcome to participate in the event.  Bring your binoculars, scopes and identification manuals.

The nife River Indian Heritage Foundation, sponsor of the event, invites all participants for a hearty post-birding breakfast and wrap-up of the bird walk.  Breakfast will be enjoyed at the 7-Trails Trading Post.

All activities are free.  For additional information, please contact the park at (701) 745-3300.
