Hours of OperationThe visitor parking lot is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00PM; the gates are on a timer and automatically open and close. Parking on the road is prohibited and may be subject to a fine. Park grounds are open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00PM, while the park visitor center is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00PM.
GPS Directional DevicesWhen using a GPS Directional Device make sure that you “Kings Mountain National Military Park,” so that it does not take you to another attraction with a similar name.
Please note that GPS signal and phone reception is poor in the park.

Driving
- From the North: From I85 southbound take Exit 2 for NC216. Follow NC216 south for about 4.5 miles until you arrive at the visitor center.
- From the South: From I85 northbound drive until you cross into North Carolina and then take Exit 2 for NC216. Follow NC216 south for about 4.5 miles until you arrive at the visitor center.
- From the East: From US74 eastbound use the right two lanes to merge onto I85 S/US29S towards Spartanburg, then take Exit 2 for NC216. Follow NC216 south for about 4.5 miles until you arrive at the visitor center.
- From the West: From US74 westbound use exit 10B to merge onto I85 S/US29S towards Spartanburg, then take Exit 2 for NC216. Follow NC216 south for about 4.5 miles until you arrive at the visitor center.
- From NC/SC 161: From NC/SC 161 turn onto NC/SC705 Battleground Road leading into Kings Mountain State Park. Battleground Road becomes Park Road. Follow Park Road for 3.6 miles until you arrive at the visitor center.

Kings Mountain National Military Park is not close to any large communities, and phone reception is extremely limited. So, while it is possible to get a ride to the park it can be very difficult getting picked up at the park. It is highly recommended that arrangements for pick up at the park are made prior to your arrival.
