"I Am a Civil War Soldier" gives each student a real soldier of the Atlanta Campaign's identity. Using real facts of that soldier's life, students come to understand the reasons, beliefs, and ideals of the men who fought in the Civil War. The tour takes place in the Battlefield's museum.
"Cheatham Hill Battlefield Scavenger Hunt" allows students to explore the main battlefield of the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain. Using the interpretive signs located there, students can search for answers, learning and having fun at the same time!
Students and teachers are able to tour the Battlefield's museum on their own and watch the site's twenty minute film.
TREE (Teacher Resources for Environmental Education) Environmental Backpacks allow teachers and youth group leaders to explore the great outdoors with their students with this natural history program. Educators can lead their students along a one-mile moderate terrain environmental trail, exploring the site's flora, fauna, and topography through games, worksheets, and experiments using tools found in the packs. Environmental trail signs found along the hike provide further information about the surrounding environment and coordinate with the contents of the backpacks. Because the program encourages exploration and is freeform, the pack contents may be used in a variety of ways to meet the science curriculum standard of many grade levels.
