Hey kids do you want to remember your trip to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield for years to come. Well here's your chance. Just print out a Junior Ranger booklet from one of the links below and you're ready to go. Requires Adobe Reader.

After you complete the activities in the Junior Ranger book, you will receive a Junior Ranger badge and you will get to have a National Park Ranger sign and present a certificate to our newest Junior Ranger.

 2011 Junior Ranger Summer Day Camp

Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is offering two Summer day camps:

Down on the Farm - June 27-30, 2011

This camp focuses on farm life before, during, and after the 1864 Battle of Kennesaw Mountain. Campers will discover the basics of Civil War era clothing and hygiene and practice homesteading skills like candle and soap making, food preparation and other Victorian farm family skills.

Outdoor Thrills and Skills - July 11-15, 2011

Conducted in conjunction with REI, this camp teaches kids orienteering, map and compass navigation, biking skills, back country cooking, hiking skills, historic geocaching, outdoor photography and botany.

  • Camps are held from 9AM-4PM
  • Children must be between the ages of 9-12 at the time of camp enrollment.
  • Cost for the camps are $150.00 for Down on the Farm and $175.00 for Outdoor Thrills and Skills.
  • Both camps can be purchased for $300.00.
  • Space is limited, registration begins April 1st.
