Fee Waiver Requirements

Entrance-fee waivers are granted to bona fide academic institutions that are using the park to study park resources. In accordance with 36 CFR 71.13 (d), three criteria must be met before a fee waiver can be granted:
To request an entrance-fee waiver for your university or college group, fill out the fee-waiver application and email, fax (760-367-5586), or mail it to: In most cases your application must be received at least 30 days prior to your proposed visit. If approved, the application will be signed and returned to you. Applications cannot be approved at the park entrance stations or visitor centers. Verbal waivers will not be granted. Each vehicle must have a copy of the waiver in their possession during their entire visit. Students arriving without the waiver will be charged an entrance fee.
