Philadelphia – On Friday, June 14, at noon, four members of the Spirit of Liberty Sky Diving Team will sky dive onto Independence Mall, across from Independence Hall.

Independence National Historical Park is joining with the City of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Flag Day Association, the National Constitution Center, the U.S. Army, the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, and others, to celebrate June 14 -- Flag Day and the birthday of the U.S. Army.Following the program in front of Independence Hall (at about 11:40 am), George Washington and Benjamin Franklin will lead the audience in ringing the Freedom Bell (made from metal from the World Trade Center and honoring our past, present and future armed forces), then invite the audience to turn their eyes skyward.
Editor's note:Media are invited to cover this first-ever sky dive onto Independence Mall. Media are welcome to set up on the south end of Block 1 on Independence Mall (Liberty Bell Block).
