Homestead National Monument of America is excited to announce the return of the Summer Campfire Series, July through mid-August 2015. Programs take placeon Saturdayevenings at the Education Center (*unless otherwise noted) and start at 7 p.m. We have a great schedule of speakers and programs for this year with which include: July 4: Park Guide Nick Manes: Undaunted Courage, the Birth of the American West Music: Judy Anderson, Celebrating Independence with Song July 11: *Night hike on the prairie and star gazing party with rangers at the Homestead Heritage Center beginning at 8:30 July 19: Music and performance by David Seay: Nebraska Territory Stories July 25: Music and performance by Kathryn Benzel: Woodie Guthrie: Re-envisioning 1930's America August 1: Latino Heritage Intern Paola Pérez: La Tierra Prometida (The Promised Land) Musical assistance: Ursus Guzman August 8: Park Guide Christy Hymen: Exodusters and Early African American Traditions Music: John Bstandig Remember, Homestead National Monument of America has an exciting schedule of events planned for 2015.
