Dinner and Soup Plates with Teacup and Saucer
Black Butterfly type, 1860-1880
These pieces are part of a large dinner service probably purchased for Hampton by Margaretta Howard Ridgely. The black butterfly pattern in Chinese export porcelain became popular later in the 19th century.
