NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA
FEASIBILITY STUDY GUIDELINES
The guidelines contained on this web site are offered for the use of National Park Service personnel undertaking congressionally authorized studies and consultants completing a locally sponsored heritage area feasibility study for submission to the National Park Service. The guidelines present the common components of a feasibility study. Currently, they should be considered as suggested guidelines and will be revised as practitioners report on their use in the field.
Congress may also consider generic National Heritage Area legislation in the near future. Should legislation be enacted, the guidelines will be revised to incorporate relevant provisions relating to the conduct of feasibility studies.
