The instructor of the Producing NPS Publications class was superb. He knew his audience and his stuff. Nice balance of talking and hands-on doing. Tom Haraden of Zion National Park and Connie Potratz-Watson of the Midwest Region discuss publication design during a week-long "Producing NPS Publications" class sponsored by the HFC Interpretive Media Institute. The Harpers Ferry Center Interpretive Media Institute and Tom Haraden of Zion National Park sponsor a week-long "Producing NPS Publications" class. This class teaches the skills required to design, develop, and produce site bulletins, newspapers, rack cards, and related print materials. The class is lead by both experienced park staff and publications specialists from Harpers Ferry Center, and involves hands-on use of professional page layout and image management software.
