WEST BRANCH, IOWA— Bridge repair on Parkside Drive and Second Street is on schedule for completion by September 30. The contractor’s schedule will determine when construction and the closure of the Water Street Parking Lot begins. The project, headed by the Federal Highways Administration in partnership with Herbert Hoover National Historic Site, will repair the bridges’ roadways and address erosion problems on the Parkside Drive and Second Street bridges. Water Street Parking Lot, between Parkside Drive and Second Street, will be closed once construction begins. Visitors and commuters should be prepared to find alternative parking. Buses and RVs may park at the gravesite and picnic areas. Additional parking may be found on the streets of West Branch. Herbert Hoover National Historic Site and the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum are in West Branch, Iowa at exit 254 of I-80. Both are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time. Parking is limited so please allow extra time to find a parking space. |
