10:30am Animals/Plants Discovery Activity Discover how the living things of Great Sand Dunes survive in this land of extreme conditions! 20 minutes, Dunes Parking Lot.

1:00pm History Discovery Activity Discover why Great Sand Dunes has been a crossroads of cultures for centuries! 20 minutes, Visitor Center Movie Room.

8:30 pm Evening Program "Creatures of the Night." Discover our nocturnal neighbors! Nine species of owls, six species of bats, black bears and coyotes benefit from dark skies and a quiet nightscape. Hear owl calls and meet a live amphibian! Amphitheater. 45 minutes.

8:45 pm Night Hike "Night on the Dunes." Enjoy a gentle hike, become familiar with the darkness and the night creatures who call it home. Suggested: jackets, flashlights, and closed toed shoes. Amphitheater Parking Lot. 45 minutes.

7:00pm Sunset Program "Tale of Two Tigers." Discover the unusual lives of the Great Sand Dunes tiger beetle and the tiger salamander, and meet a live salamander. Good program for all ages! Amphitheater. 30 minutes.

Warm layered clothing is best for evening programs. All programs are free and open to the public.
