Wednesday, October 12th

10:30 a.m. Nature Walk: "The Little Things" Though these are "Great" Sand Dunes, the little things here reveal the park's unique geology and diversity of life.Hands-on artifacts, natural objects, and a live amphibian. Dunes Parking Lot. 30 minutes.

 Thursday, October 13th  

3:30 p.m.  Nature Walk:"A Grain of Sand."Discover some of the intricacies of the dunefield and follow the wanderings of a sand grain.Dunes Parking Lot.30 minutes.

Friday, October 14th  

10:30 a.m. Nature Walk: "The Story of the Big Dunes."Why here - why are there dunes in this high mountain valley? Dunes Parking Lot. 45 minutes.

Saturday, October 15th

10:30 a.m. Nature Walk:"A Grain of Sand."Discover some of the intricacies of the dunefield and follow the wanderings of a sand grain.Dunes Parking Lot.30 minutes.

3:30 Afternoon Program:"Bison: Icons of the American West."Gain an appreciation of this magnificent animal. Visitor Center.40 minutes.

8:00 p.m. Evening Program: "Spend an Evening with the Stars." Join a "star ranger" for a telescope tour of the seasonal constellations, with cultural stories and the science behind the starlight. Flashlights and warm clothing suggested. Amphitheater. 45 minutes.
