Heritage livestock and fowl may be viewed daily in the Living Colonial Farm.

Special events feature costumed interpreters performing craft and chore demonstrations.

The Junior Ranger program consists of several activities which must be completed while exploring the historic area. Activities are designed for ages 5 - 8 and 8 - 12. The booklet may be acquired in the Visitor Center. Upon completion of the activities, the Ranger badge will be awarded in the Visitor Center.

A Scout Patch program is available. A questionnaire may be acquired in the Visitor Center, and 20 questions are to be answered while touring the historic area. The Popes Creek Historic Trail patch is then purchased at the association Book Store and Gift Shop.

 Education programs are curriculum based and reflect the Virginia and Maryland Standards of Learning. Several Parks-As-Classroom programs are available including "How Math and Science Changed George Washington's Life" with a surveying exercise for middle school students. Click here for details about our education programs.

The Heritage 4H Club is a special opportunity for youth to learn about history, present living history demonstrations, learn colonial craft skills, and enjoy activities with other youth.
