Fort Stanwix National Monument invites you to the kickoff event for the Walk With History program on Saturday, June 7 from noon to 2 pm. The event will feature a health fair on the fort's west lawn highlighting the services of several local healthcare organizations, including the American Heart Association and Rome Memorial Hospital. Staff and volunteers from the participating groups will be providing demonstrations and screenings about healthy living. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn more about, and sign up for, the new "Walk With History" program at the park.

At 2 pm, join a ranger for the Walk With History program kickoff tour. This 45-minute guided walk will lead visitors along the entire trail surrounding the park, taking a close look at the geography and history of the site. Those joining the tour as part of Walk With History will be able to log their first half-mile at the end of the program, and begin earning some of the many incentives the park has to offer.

The fun doesn't stop there, though! As part of the National Park Service's commitment to connecting the public with the outdoors, Fort Stanwix staff will be leading monthly Walk With History tours. Each of the tours will focus on a different topic, and special tours will be led at historical sites in the surrounding area.

Fort Stanwix National Monument is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. Admission to the park is free. For more information about upcoming events, please call the park at (315)338-7730.
