Couple eating lunch on bench in shade at Furnace Creek Visitor Center Courtyard

Picnicking

We encourage visitors to pack their own food and utilize the various picnic areas within the park. Picnic areas include in front of and within the courtyard of Furnace Creek Visitor Center, in front of the Ranch hotel (off of Highway 190), at Ashford Mill, Hells Gate, and Mud Canyon. There is also a day use area at Texas Springs Campground with picnic benches but, it has limited parking.

Microwaves to reheat your food are available at Stovepipe Wells' General Store.
