Devils Tower National Monument invites all 4th grade students to visit the park for free as part of the White House’s new Every Kid in a Park program. Fourth grade students can go to to complete an activity and obtain a free annual entry pass to more than 2,000 federal recreation areas, including national park sites.

Devils Tower to Host a Celebration of the Rich Culture and Heritage of the American Cowboy
- Come and celebrate the lifeways of rural America by creating the "campfire" which everyone can come and share in the appreciation of the culture and traditions unique to the Black Hills. The Cowboy Poetry Festival kicks off Sunday, September 6 at 1:00 pm with Robert Dennis, Paul Larsen and Don Hewlit. Each cowboy brings their own unique western experiences to life every time they take the stage and present cowboy culture.

Bats Celebrated at Devils Tower!
Devils Tower National Monument will host a Bat Festival August 29th, 1:00 – 10:30 p.m. in the Picnic Area. The festival will feature demonstrations on how to build bat boxes, information booths, crafts, and activities for kids.

Tularemia Detected in Prairie Dogs
Several dead prairie dogs and other rodents recently found in Devils Tower National Monument have tested positive for tularemia. This year, tularemia has been widely reported in Wyoming and some neighboring states.

A new National Park Service report shows over 440,000 visitors to Devils Tower in 2014 spent $26,996,400 million in communities near the park. That spending supported 432 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $33,693,900 million.

Climbing Routes Temporarily Closed
Park Managers will temporarily close several climbing routes on the west face and southwest shoulder of Devils Tower to protect nesting peregrine falcon and prairie falcon beginning March 15. Over one hundred and fifty climbing routes remain open.
