July 7, 2023 Update

July 07, 2023 Posted by: Katie Karnes
Preparation work continued throughout June and the contractors are now ready to proceed with beginning excavation and earthworks at Pretty Rocks this summer. In the next few weeks, we expect to have more details about when contractors will begin transporting equipment and materials to the site. The project's scheduled completion date remains Summer 2026.

If you are visiting the park, please remember that there is a closure around the Polychrome construction area and that the road from the East Fork Bridge to Polychrome Overlook is closed to vehicles, pedestrians, and bikers. This closure will be in effect for the entire duration of the project. For a map of the closed areas, see the Current Conditions page.
