The Urban Ecology Research Learning Alliance is pleased to offer Climate Change Communications Internships.

This internship program is designed to assist national parks in the NCR to describe and communicate climate change complexity. The internships are open to students and volunteers from diverse fields, including natural resource management, ecology, geography and GIS, policy and media.

Interns gain experience in the development of science communication messages, and disseminate knowledge about climate change and its effects on national parks. Some past internship projects have included:

• Developing educational materials for nonprofit partners
• Producing radio podcasts and short films.
• Assisting parks in completing carbon audits.
• Creating fact sheets for interpreters.
