Tables

This panel displays when you click the Tables link in the Accessibility left pane. Use it to view a report of all tables within the current page.

The Table view identifies table types. Assistive technologies distinguish between layout and data tables and will announce heading, caption, and summary information for the latter as users navigate through each table cell. For more information and guidelines on how to present tables to disabled visitors, see Developing Accessible Content in CommonSpot in the Administrator's Reference.

Click an item in the left pane to display the corresponding table within the page. For each table, this view shows the following, including warnings:

• Whether tables appear as data or layout tables (has headers or not)
  • For data tables misclassified as layout tables, add header elements
  • For layout tables misclassified as data tables, convert header cells to plain cells
• Any caption, summary, or title provided
  • Remove these from layout tables
  • For data tables, make sure these are descriptive, concise, and front-loaded
