Extended URL Field

Use this tab to control the link types and window/tab display options for Insert Link operations in the Custom Element Scope for the CommonSpot Extended URL field type. (See Edit Form Field for a description of Standard Properties.)

Enabled Types

Choose from these types for the Other Properties tab:

Page - Enables linking to a CommonSpot page.

Uploaded Document - Enables linking to an existing uploaded document.
Registered URL - Enables linking to an external URL registered in CommonSpot.
Page Set - Enables links to Page Sets.
New Page from Template - Enables linking to a template for creating a new page on the fly.

New Uploaded File - Enables linking "on the fly" to a new Word, PowerPoint, PDF, or other allowable file or document type. Displays the Upload New Document dialog for initiating the document upload process.
Multimedia File - Presents options for choosing an externally or locally hosted video or multimedia file as the link target. Search options return multimedia file-specific results, with the option to upload new multimedia files.
Multimedia Playlist - Like Multimedia File, presents options for choosing a Brightcove- or YouTube-hosted video or multimedia playlists for the link target. Search options return multimedia playlist-specific results, with the option to upload a new multimedia playlist.
Image - Enables display of the Image Properties dialog for uploading a new image file or linking to an image already available at your site.
Email Link - Enables the option to link to an email field.
Unregistered URL or Relative Internal URL - Enables either an absolute link (for example, http://www.paperthin.com) or a link relative to a page on this site (for example, ../about/index.cfm).

Show

Link Open Properties tab - Enables a new tab, a new window, or opening the link in the same window.

Link Display control - If new window is selected, enables controls for size, position, and other attributes.

Default Window Properties

Open link in current window, replacing current page - Sets the default to opening links in the current window.

Open link in new tab or window - Sets the default to opening links in a new window or tab.
