Visitor Center Operating Hours Notification
The City of Rocks Visitor Center will be closed May 21 & 22 for an All-Employee Orientation. The visitor center will reopen May 23 and operate from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 7 days a week (including holidays) through October.

National Reserve: Year-round use. Some roads may be impassable from November through April. Call the City of Rocks Visitor Center at 208-824-5901 for the latest road conditions.
City of Rocks Visitor Center: From November 1, 2012 through April 15, 2013, the visitor center is open weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and is closed on weekends and holidays. Beginning April 16, 2013 , the Visitor Center will be open daily, 7 days a week, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including holidays.

Did You Know?
The Twin Sisters in City of Rocks National Reserve are made up of different rocks. The darker sister is made of granite that is 2.5 billion years old and is some of the oldest rock in the Lower 48 states. The lighter sister is made of granite from a younger formation that is 25 million years old.
