Commercial Use Authorizations

Note: All attachments below were updated on February 2009. Please use these updated forms when applying for a Commercial Use Authorization.

The Commercial Use Authorization (CUA), new in 2007, replaces the Incidental Business Permit (IBP). The CUA authorizes incidental commercial visitor services that begin and end outside the park. The number of businesses authorized for a particular service or operating area may be limited.

Approved commercial services include:

  • Kayak Instruction and Guide Services

  • Vessel Supported Whale Watching, Sightseeing, Research, and Education Services

  • Multi-day Sailing Tour Services

  • Environmental Education and Instruction Guide Services

Commercial operators interested in obtaining a CUA should review the commercial use application instructions, complete the commercial use application form and applicable appendix (below), include the non-refundable application fee, and mail it to the address on the form.

We are accepting applications for Commercial Sea Kayak Guide and Outfitter Services, Scorpion Area, Santa Cruz Island at this time. Applications must be received at park headquarters by 3:00pm, Friday, March 20, 2009.

These forms are available as Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF files. Please click here to download Adobe Reader for free.
