Things To Know Before You Come

The National Park Service works to ensure balance between recreation and stewardship of natural and cultural resources throughout our parks. You will notice posted signs in the larger parks for visitor compliance and safety, which will also apply to the smaller parks.

Below are tips for visitors to be aware of, while visiting and using your neighborhood parks.

Bald Eagle

Did You Know?
The Potomac River is often used by the bald eagle as a flyway. It is not unusual for them to be seen along the areas of Forts Carroll, Foote, and Marcy. Bald eagles also have successfully nested in Fort Circle Park areas in the southeast section of the city.
