Castle Clinton is located in historic Battery Park.  It is only directly accessible by foot, bicycle, or wheelchair. You cannot drive directly to the site.  Local parking is nearly impossible to find and expensive.  All public transportation options are located outside of Battery Park.
 
Bicycling is a fun way to see Manhattan. Castle Clinton is along the route of the NYC Cycling Map. Bike are not permitted on the ferry to Statue of Liberty or Ellis Island.Bike racks are provided at the front and back doors of Castle Clinton.

Did You Know?
Castle Clinton was very nearly destroyed in the 1940’s as part of a project to build a second Brooklyn bridge. The project was not stopped, but moved underground. Today the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel runs directly under the building.
