Hooked on Fishing Program at Leatherwood Ford on Saturday, June 8
The Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area will have a "Hooked on Fishing" program on Tennessee's Free Fishing Day. Ranger Dustin Beaty will take the young ones and the young-at-heart fishing at Leatherwood Ford on Saturday, June 8, at 6:30 p.m. (EDT). This 90-minute program will meet at the Leatherwood Ford gazebo. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Bring a fishing pole and life jacket if you have one. Please take appropriate precautions to protect yourself from sun and insects. Since this event takes place on Free Fishing Day in Tennessee, no state fishing license is required.

Did You Know?
In the 1960's Congress requested the Army Corps of Engineers to study the feasibility of damming the Big South Fork of the Cumberland River just above the Devils Jump Rapid to create another reservoir. Had that happened Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area would never have existed.
