Coffee with a Ranger Program at Bandy Creek Visitor Center on Saturday, May 4

The Bandy Creek Visitor Center in the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area will be hosting an informal coffee with the ranger program on Saturday, May 4, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time. Bring any questions you have and come join National Park Service rangers for a free cup of coffee or tea. Visitors can ask questions about the park and its resources. The event will provide an excellent opportunity to learn about the various jobs rangers do in a national park. Did You Know?
In the 1960's Congress requested the Army Corps of Engineers to study the feasibility of damming the Big South Fork of the Cumberland River just above the Devils Jump Rapid to create another reservoir. Had that happened Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area would never have existed.
