Snow Days in Big Bend
A snowbear

Snow Bear at the Lost Mine Trailhead

A wintertime snowfall in the Big bend is a rare thing; a gift, as it were. While not totally unusual, snowfalls occur at most once or twice in an average winter, usually at elevations from 3,500' and up.

Since most visitors never get to experience snow in the Big Bend firsthand, the photographs on this page provide a glimpse into a Big Bend that few people see.
