Pacific Historic Parks

Established in 1979,Pacific Historic Parks (PHP) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the National Park Service (NPS) in preserving and interpreting the history of the Pacific region, with a special focus on sites related to World War II, to remember, honor, and understand. Through their initiatives, PHP educates the public about the war's profound impact on the Pacific region and its lasting legacies, promoting awareness, remembering the people who were involved, understanding the events that took place, and honoring the sacrifices made.

PHP works in partnership with the NPS to provide educational programs, historical research, and preservation efforts at several national parks, including:

● Pearl Harbor National Memorial - Pearl Harbor, Hawai'i

● War in the Pacific National Historical Park - Guam

● American Memorial Park - Saipan

● Kalaupapa National Historic Park - Moloka'i, Hawai'i

● Honouliuli National Historic Site - Waipahu, Hawai'i

PHP operates bookstores within these parks, offering a range of educational materials, interpretive exhibits, and merchandise related to the sites' history. By offering these retail operations, PHP aims to enrich visitors' understanding and appreciation of the parks' history.

The proceeds generated from PHP's retail operations, along with donations and grants, play a crucial role in supporting various projects focused on the preservation, restoration, and interpretation of the parks and their resources. PHP actively seeks contributions from individuals, organizations, and partners who share a commitment to preserving the rich cultural and natural heritage of these sites. Through the philanthropic efforts and generosity of supporters, PHP can continue its mission of safeguarding these parks for future generations.
