Dehydration Suspected as Cause for Injury on Angels Landing

On June 1, 2015 rangers received a transferred 911 call reporting that an adult male was "down" and unconscious on Angels Landing. Park medics began hiking in and located the man at Scout Lookout, where he was being attended by ER physicians visiting the park. The individual was evaluated by medical personnel, given fluids and evacuated by wheeled litter to a waiting ambulance at 12:30 pm. The individual had been traveling for 24 hours and had consumed little water or food prior to the start of the hike. Dehydration is suspected.
