Washita Battlefield National Historic Site will

host its third annual Teacher's Workshop on

June 25, 2011

Washita Battlefield National Historic Site will be hosting its third annual Teacher's Workshop: A Window on our World: Bringing Cheyenne and Arapaho Perspectives into the Classroom. The workshop will be held at the park visitor center on Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. A popular feature of this workshop, the traditional lunch, will again be offered this year.

Limited to thirty teachers representing grades K through 12, the focus of the workshop will be to offer various ideas for the enrichment of classroom curriculum. During the day, teachers will be introduced to the National Park Service and Washita Battlefield National Historic Site, as well as to Cheyenne and Arapaho tribal history, culture, tradition, and language.
