Virgin Islands National Park wants to share with the public the decision by Cinnamon Bay Resort & Campground to delay re-opening of overnight lodging until the 2021/2022winter visitor season. Despite several unforeseen challenges this year, the concessioner has continued to work steadfastly in its repair and rebuilding work at the campground, ensuring safe and improved visitor facilities and services when the campground reopens in December 2021.
Check out our list of Frequently Asked Questions regarding Cinnamon Bay Campground. We will be updating this information as it becomes available.
Cinnamon Bay Beach will remain open to the public during construction, and limited food and drink services along with rental of watersports equipment will continue. Please see the statement from Cinnamon Bay Resort & Campground below:
Happy November 2020 Everyone! As we said in our last post, we are not immune to the struggles and setbacks that everyone has encountered this year. While we remain committed to our community, staff and reopening the campground, we won't be able to open to overnight guest this winter season. There are too many variables and obstacles for us to open safely. No one will be more relieved and excited than us when we are able to reopen to overnight guests.
As always the beach and parking lot remain open to day guests. We do plan to have water sports rentals and a food truck with simple provisions available this winter season.
We are confident that our reopen date for overnight guests in the tent area will be no later than December 1, 2021. We are excited that online reservations for the eco-tents and bare sites will begin soon after the new year in 2021!
We appreciate the encouragement and support we continue to receive from everyone excited about Cinnamon Bay Campground's reopening. It means so much to us!
The management of Cinnamon Bay Resort & Campground, which includes the food and beverage concessions at Trunk Bay Beach, was transitioned to a new concessions operator, CinnOpCo, LLC, in May 2019.
