Fiscal Year 2008 Volunteer Report

Public Lands Day 2008

Another great year for volunteerism in the park! Volunteer hours are up 15% over FY2007. During FY2008 volunteers donated 43,469 hours of service, 6,488.50 more hours than in FY2007 with a dollar value of $848,080. Great job!

Valley Forge National Historical Park has benefited greatly from an increase in volunteerism over the past 5 years. Volunteer contributions are a vital part of making what we do everyday work in the most efficient way, as a result providing the visiting public with the best experience and helping to preserve park resources. More and more corporations, universities, high schools, youth organizations, religous organizations and individual families are donating time and sharing their expertise in the park.
