    THPO Grants

    Cultural Resources National Park Service

About Us

The Tribal Historic Preservation Program works in close cooperation with the State, Tribal, Local, Plans & Grants Division in the Cultural Resources, Partnerships, and Science Directorate of the National Park Service (NPS).

Designation of new Tribal Historic Preservation Offices (THPO), and oversight of the requirements THPOs agree to in accepting the duties of a THPO, are handled by this office.

The State, Tribal, Local, Plans & Grants Division processes and manages the annually-apportioned grants to the THPOs and the competitive Tribal Heritage Grants for Federally Recognized Tribes.
