Thing to Do
Listen to Live Music at the Blue Ridge Music Center
Western North Carolina and southwest Virginia are internationally known for their traditional old-time stringband music, ballad singing and bluegrass. During summer and fall you can enjoy daily mountain music performances in the Blue Ridge Music Center’s breezeway from noon-4:00 PM. Or get tickets to a weekend evening concert held in the 3,000-seat outdoor amphitheater. Visit the Blue Ridge Music Center performance website to learn about upcoming concerts and musical events.
Be sure to stop in the visitor center to tour the “Roots of American Music” exhibits, which explore the diversity of American music found in the region.
