Hike Frazier Discovery Trail

Frazier Discovery Trail is a 1.2 mi/1.9 km loop with a view of the South District of Shenandoah National Park. From the north end of the Loft Mountain Wayside parking area at mile 79.5, cross Skyline Drive and follow the blue-blazed Frazier Discovery Trail. Go right at the intersection and follow the steep uphill grade to where the trail joins the Appalachian Trail. Turn left, staying on the blue-blazed trail and left again at the next trail post to descend to your starting point.

Frazier Discovery Trail is a 1.2 mi/1.9 km hike rated easy, though there is a steep section of the hike. 

An average pace is:
1.5 mph for easiest trails.
1.4 mph for moderate trails.
1.3 mph for moderately strenuous trails.
1.2 mph for strenuous and very strenuous trails.
Pets are not allowed on the Frazier Discovery Trail.
The park entrance fee is required.
The trailhead for Frazier Discovery Trail is at mile 79.5 of Skyline Drive. Park at the north end of the Loft Mountain Wayside and cross Skyline Drive to start the trail.
Accessibility Information
Service animals are allowed on Frazier Discovery Trail. All other pets are not allowed on this trail.
