For classes unable to physically visit Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site, this book could still be used if modified. Immersive Education is working on developing a virtual Bent's Fort that may be used in the classroom in the future. 

During a field trip, a guided tour could complement the activities of the book, but would need to be done at separate times. Usually a guided tour is about one hour, the book could take much longer unless the teacher sets a time limit. 

For a large class during a field trip, the class would need to be divided into smaller groups, and it is recommended to have a chaperone with each group.

Materials

This activity book includes discussion questions that could be used in the classroom or during a field trip to Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site. The book is geared towards the 4th grade Colorado curriculum. You can modify the book to suit the needs of your classroom.
