"GRAND CANYON GEOLOGY" OCTOBER 23 AND 24, 2015
Grand Canyon National Park provides an opportunity to gaze into a part of Earth's history. The rock layers and fossils help us comprehend the dynamic processes occurring on our planet. Learn techniques for teaching deep time and geologic processes, explore Grand Canyon's geologic landscape, and gain techniques for using Grand Canyon as a classroom teaching tool.
"WILD ABOUT GRAND CANYON WILDLIFE" NOVEMBER 6 AND 7, 2015
With an amazing diversity of life zones from the North Rim boreal forest to the hot deserts of the inner canyon, Grand Canyon hosts a wide range of wildlife. This workshop will explore methods of teaching students about Grand Canyon and Arizona's diversity of wildlife, and how each is adapted to thrive in the habitat they occupy. Unique endemic and rare endangered species will be discussed.
