This program focuses on FDR and his interest in conservation of natural resources. Through hands-on exploration, students will learn about the Roosevelt Estate, the creatures living in the Roosevelt waters at Springwood and how the President's management of his family estate was reflected in New Deal-era conservation programs. By utilizing multi-disciplinary techniques and observational skills, students will collect data from the streams, identify and classify organisms, and participate in a web-of-life game where they will apply their newly gained knowledge of fresh water ecosystems.
