Are you 62 or older? Are you looking for a change? Senior Skip DayTM is a perfect opportunity for you to skip out on the same old same old and enjoy a healthy and fun day at a national park!

On October 8, everyone 62 and older can get free entry to any of the more than 400 national parks to enjoy healthy and fun activities, compliments of Humana. This day was created to encourage seniors to recall their high school years and skip out on their normal, daily routine and enjoy a healthy day in one of our national parks. Because why should high schoolers have all the fun?

Humana, a Premier sponsor of Find Your Park, is kicking off its participation in the National Park Service Centennial celebration by hosting Senior Skip Day events at Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Biscayne National Park on October 8. Seniors, their families, and their friends are invited to join in park activities and special events like hiking, biking, and boat and kayak tours, as well as ranger-led activities, including monarch butterfly tagging.

To continue encouraging seniors to get healthy in national parks, Humana will also give up to 10,000 free vouchers good for lifetime access to the national parks. Seniors can download the voucher online through the Humana Senior Skip Day website and can use it to claim their Interagency Senior pass at any National Park Service site that issues Senior Passes. These lifetime senior passes are always available at national park sites for a $10 fee.

Not sure what parks are closest to you or need some inspiration to get started? Visit Find Your to discover parks across the country and learn more about National Park Service Centennial events, including healthy park programs.

And, if you need a little extra inspiration to head outdoors and recharge your overall health and well-being, take a look at these videos!

The National Park Service harnesses the power of parks and public lands to help people live healthier lifestyles through the Healthy Parks Healthy People US program, as well as through the National Park Foundation and Humana partnership. Humana-sponsored Find Your Park activities will help people from all backgrounds appreciate America's national parks as great natural, cultural and historical resources that can also improve health. Humana employees kicked off the partnership with the National Park Foundation by creating a GPS-based geo map of #FindYourPark in a local park near Humana's Louisville, Kentucky, headquarters to help raise the profile of the nation's parks and encourage others to take advantage of all that national parks have to offer.
