Essentials to Bring

Food

We strongly recommend that you bring enough food and drink to sustain you throughout the day.

Food may be purchased at concession stands located at the following National Mall locations (please note that lines will be quite long):

  • Lincoln Memorial
  • Thomas Jefferson Memorial
  • Washington Monument (Northeast quadrant)
  • GSI Concession Stands Throughout the National Mall
  • Smithsonian Folklife Festival

Water

We strongly recommend that you carry plenty of water with you during the day.

Water stations supplying potable water will be located throughout the National Mall, so carry a plastic bottle and refill it as needed.

Sunscreen

For those coming during the day, be sure to pack sunscreen and perhaps some light long sleeves to cover up from the sun.
