Ticket Type Overview

Every day, visitation to Liberty Island exceeds capacity limits inside the Statue of Liberty. Due to these space limitations, access inside the Statue of Liberty is by advanced reservation. There are two ticket types available inside the Statue of Liberty: Crown and Pedestal. Once all reservations have been booked, tickets to the island will be Grounds Only.

CROWN ACCESS

Visits to the crown are by way of a narrow spiral staircase through the Statue. There is no elevator to the crown. Space inside the crown is extremely limited. Ten people are permitted to visit at a time. There is a limited number of crown tickets available each day on a first-come first-serve basis. Advanced reservations are the only way to guarantee a visit to the Crown.

PEDESTAL ACCESS

The top of the pedestal contains an outdoor balcony and a viewing platform up through the Statue's framework. There is a limited number of pedestal tickets each day on a first-come first-serve basis. During peak season, advanced reservations are the only way to guarantee a visit to the Pedestal.

GROUNDS ONLY ACCESS

All visits to Liberty Island include access to the outside grounds. Those without reservations for the inside of the monument may take part in an included audio tour, Ranger guided tour or a self-guided walk.
