2018 Field Science School

Register now for the Summer 2018 Field Science School!

Sitka National Historical Park and the Sitka Sound Science Center are hosting a Field Science school where participants (high school aged and up) can act as research technicians on a variety of projects every Friday between June 8 and August 10. Projects include checking bear hair snares, early detection monitoring for invasive crabs, fish seine surveys, and much more. Complete the course and become a certified field technician, great resume-building experience for budding field scientists!

For more information, contacting Callie Simmons at csimmons@sitkascience.org or visit the Sitka Sound Science Center.

Click on the boxes below for more information about the projects. There will be no class on July 6; on August 10, there will be a celebration to mark the end of the field science school.
