Life During the Great Depression

The Great Depression was an incredibly difficult time for many people. Keep in mind that many of the relief programs that help people today like unemployment benefits, didn't exist then so people truly had nowhere to turn. In the following interactive you will pretend that you are living during that time. As you go through this element, think about how your real life is different from the character you play.

  1. Write a journal entry comparing and contrasting your life to the life of your character in the interactive.

  2. Make a list of the pros and cons of joining the CCC at a time like that portrayed in the interactive.
